Recent News: Sandy Spring Inspection Services (SSIS) was recently featured on two episodes of Home & Garden TV (HGTV). Clint Bissell is the home inspector that thoroughly examined homes for prospective buyers on the show "Good Buy/Bad Buy".

SSIS is a small independant home inspection firm serving Maryland (Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's counties) and the District of Columbia. SSIS provides thorough inspections and complete (both written and digital picture) documentation. - SSIS is the only home inspection company that provides Level 2* chimney and fireplace inspections. Level 2 inspections include a video scan of your chimney and are required "upon sale or transfer of the property" by the NFPA 211, Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel-Burning Appliances, (2006 edition, pg. 211-45, table 14.3.1).

Clint Bissell is a Cornell University graduate. Clint has been a full time home inspector for over 10 years. Before his inspection career, he worked at IBM, Loral, and Lockheed Martin, primarily in Site Activation and Planning. In 2007, after almost 10 years of working for Highland Home Inspections, Clint decided to pursue his dream of small business ownership. (Side note..the separation from Highland Home Inspections was amicable and both owners continue their friendship and goodwill). He is a long-time member of the American Society of Home Inspector (ASHI) and the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of ASHI.
Mr. Joseph D "JD" Pyle joined SSIS in 2007 and served a year-long internship under Clint Bissell. During this period JD attended the rigourous Carson-Dunlop training program and earned his Home Inspector license. JD and Clint work together as often as their schedules permit. There is a constant stream of unsolicited feedback from satisfied clients of JD and several can be forwarded upon request.
Deborah Bissell is the office manager. Deborah is a delightful lady that will competently handle all of your questions. She is in charge of scheduling and finances.
