Your SSIS home inspection typically lasts 3 hours; condominiums and townhouses slightly less, and larger houses slightly longer.  Your attendence/participation is strongly encouraged.

The home inspection process is comprised of 5 distinct sub-processes: the roof, the exterior, major systems (HVAC, plumbing, electric), the interior and finally, the attic.  Digital pictures are taken of the roof and attic since clients are discouraged from following the inspector(s) onto/into these potentially dangerous areas of the house.  Digital pictures are also used to document salient building defects.

The findings of the inspection are organized and documented into an "exhaustive" report.  Your report will arrive in a timely fashion, as an e-mail Word or PDF attachment, typically the morning after your inspection. Your report will typically be less than 30 pages in length.  Your report will be created specifically for your house...no wading through large manuals to glean important points.  Your report will be computer generated, so it is easy to read).  It will be broken down into the following system categories:

  • Structural
  • Roofing
  • Exterior
  • Electrical
  • Central Heating
  • Central Air Conditioning
  • Insulation/Ventilation
  • Plumbing
  • Interior
  • Appliances

Your report is intended to be a working document.  It will accurately document the condition of your home and provide useful maintenance and upkeep information.
